JRO SERVICES

Jim Riley Outreach incorporates several key components that help our residents launch into independent living.

  • Jim Riley Outreach operates two transitional living homes in Collin County that serve young adults who have aged out of foster care, or who are homeless and without critical support. We provide a safe living environment, equip residents with life skills, foster educational and career advancement, and build a network of support around them through mentors and individual coaching. • Our weekly classes cover various topics in finances, personal living, interpersonal communication, vocational pursuits, and spiritual development. We include classes on budgeting, driving, resume building, and interviewing, cooking, and self-care.

  • Residents meet weekly with their respective program director to develop and review goals, create action steps to reach them, act as a sounding board for weekly challenges and to provide accountability towards achieving these goals and plans toward self-sufficiency.

  • JRO provides each resident a mentor throughout their time in our program with the hope that the connection lasts well beyond. We hope that this relationship will serve as a resource for life. They each serve as advocates for our residents in the small daily things as well as the big life decisions. Each Mentor is trained to ensure they understand the challenges experienced by their youth.

  • This lifelong commitment to our alumni provides the support needed to enable them to take on any new challenge. Like any young adult in a traditional family, our alumni can more effectively thrive if we remain available to provide safety-net services and other limited support as needed to help them begin their new, independent lives.

At JRO, we measure success through positive life change. It is a work in progress.
