Blake's House has three key components that help launch young women into independent living:
Our classes cover a variety of topics in the areas of finances, personal living, interpersonal communication and spiritual development. Example topics include: budgeting, driving, resume building and interviewing, cooking, and self care.
Residents meet weekly with the director to develop goals, create action steps to reach them, and to have accountability for personal growth.
Blake’s House provides every young woman in our program a support team to come alongside them as they make big life changes.
Residents have their own private room with a twin-sized bed, closet, and dresser. They also have their own cabinet space to store groceries. All residents share the same kitchen/dining room, laundry room, living room and laptop computers.
Residents receive points weekly based on program accomplishments. Points can be cashed in for rewards. In addition to short term incentives, the rent that is paid monthly is put into a savings account and will be given back upon successful completion of the program.
