PROGRAM DETAILS

At JRO, we offer more than just a place to live. We offer the opportunity to develop community, grow towards self-reliance, and develop the skills necessary to gain true independence, and we have fun while doing so.

  • Each Tuesday night is a connection night! Activities alternate between having a spiritual discussion and meeting with mentors. We do not require that residents adhere to a particular set of beliefs; we just ask that they be open to having a discussion. During these nights, we will explore ideas about God, His work, and His character.

  • Residents have their own private room with a twin-sized bed, closet, and dresser. They also have their own kitchen cabinet space to store groceries. All residents share the same kitchen/dining room, laundry room, living room, and laptop computers.

  • Residents receive points weekly based on program accomplishments. Points can be cashed in for rewards. In addition to short-term incentives, the monthly rent they pay is put into a savings account and will be returned upon successful completion of the program.

  • Quarterly, JRO throws a celebratory party for all residents. These are designed to celebrate the achievements of residents and give public encouragement for program progress. Residents are encouraged to provide positive affirmations to fellow residents and will receive the same in return. This is accompanied by taking the residents on an outing such as a movie, dinner, or other fun events.

  • Upon successful completion of the senior level, a launch party is thrown. The launch party is similar to a high school graduation party in that it helps transition a resident to the next phase of life. Residents can invite important individuals and those who have helped them achieve success (friends, co-workers, teachers, mentors, etc). Residents can request gifts of additional housing items needed for a successful transition.

  • One of the best things about living at a JRO house is the friendships our residents can make! Residents will live with others of a similar age, and who have likely experienced similar hardships. Residents have the opportunity to support one another as they change their lives and build lasting connections.
